Review by Jared Stossel

The imagery that graces the cover of Kent hardcore quintet COVE's debut mini-album is one that evokes darkness, but such that is faintly illuminated with a light from above. It's a foreshadowing of what you can expect from a hard-hitting debut like this; some of the most chaotic sounding hardcore passages I've listened to in recent history, while still taking time to pause and find light in the darkness (i.e., the slower, more melodic moments in the record). It's one hell-of-a-debut, and it's no holds barred. COVE are a promising new group in the world of hardcore. The album clocks in around twenty-three minutes, leaving the listener reflecting on the fact that they experienced all of the light and dark that COVE have to offer in under a mere half-hour.
