Trash Boat is a band that has something in common with a band like Neck Deep. No, it's not that they're both from the UK or that they're both signed to Hopeless Records, but they're both bands that I was introduced to at a very early point in their career (both by the same wonderful publicist, believe it or not). I've watched both of these bands progress substantially throughout their career, just over the past couple of years.
The release of Trash Boat's first full-length record, Nothing I Write You Can Change What You've Been Through, marks a huge milestone for the band after releasing two EPs. Not only is their sound the best and most defined it's ever been, but the lyrical content that seeps throughout the eleven track record presents potentially the most candid they've ever been about their lives.
From the moment "Strangers" begins, there's no slowing them down. There is a sole interlude track, "Things We Leave Behind", that clocks in at fifty-one seconds before picking back up into "The Guise of a Mother". "Pangea", the shortest full-band track on the record, invokes the spirit of pop-punk that instantly conjures images of hot summers and days spent at the Vans Warped Tour.
I can guarantee you that Trash Boat is starting their career off very strong, and Nothing solidifies this statement.
