Nightlife's Salt & Acid is a genre-blending collection of songs that traverse the lines of pop-punk, emo, grunge, punk and alternative rock, all throughout its eleven tracks. The London based band recently explained that "there's a lot going on which means there's never a dull moment on this record." Hearing a statement like that can sometimes mean that the final product can result in something messier than its original intention, but in the case of Salt & Acid, it works.
You think of a variety of bands when playing Salt & Acid, never thinking of the same band twice as the next track hits. "Out of Your Mind" is a standout track, and the one that's stayed in my head long after finishing the record. It's combination of major/minor melodies, vocal harmonies punk-like guitar riffs, and alt-rock attitude make it a memorable track off the band's offering. Each song on Salt & Acid offers something a bit different, while still retaining it's catchiness long after the CD stops (or the Spotify stream ends, depending on what generation you're coming from).
