Fen Release New Song "Massif"

Post-black metal group Fen have released a brand new single titled “Massif” from their forthcoming album Elemental One: Mourning Earth, which is set to be released on August 21st, 2026.

In a press release announcing the new song, band mastermind Frank “The Watcher” Allain” stated the following:

“As the first of a two-part centrepiece song on the album, ‘Massif’ speaks of the rearing, jagged splendour of upheaved bedrock and the unforgiving nature of the mountain range. There is no mercy here – no surcease or yielding to the procession of ages – and in this, we see reflected back at us not only the inconsequential nature of our own existences, but the utterly uncaring nature of the reality in which we find ourselves. The cold rock of the 'Massif' cares not whether we live, die, or ever existed in the first place. Musically, the song sets out slowly, quiet tones slithering towards us, akin to the first whisper of the chill winds that wreathe the slopes. It builds as we approach, the leaden skies and blackened crags rendered in huge chords and desperate screams. And then – the breath of ages, forced into the throats of sorrow. On the album, the ending shifts into the beginning of the second part without a break."
