Alternative rock act The Smashing Pumpkins have announced that they will be reuniting with three-fourths of the band's original lineup, and will embark on their first tour together since 2000. Vocalist/guitarist Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin will hit the road this summer for 'Shiny and Oh So Bright' North American tour, which will detail material from the band's first five studio albums. Original bassist D'Arcy Wretzky will not be joining (filling in will be Jeff Schroeder, who has been the band's guitarist since 2007).
With the tour set to kick off in Glendale, AZ on July 12th, each night will feature music from the band's first five albums: 1991's Gish, 1993's Siamese Dream, 1995's Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, 1998's Adore, and 2000's Machina.
