Rise Against Release New Songs "Katy Bar The Door" and "Living Undercover"

Rise Against have released two new songs titled “Katy Bar The Door” and “Living Undercover”. The tracks are the first new pieces of music since the release of their 2025 album Ricochet.

On “Katy Bar The Door”, vocalist Tim McIlrath stated:

"I don't know where I came across this expression, but I immediately was taken with it,. While an obscure reference now... I liked the idea of resurrecting it for this song, and that it sort of fits what it feels like to be alive in 2026."

 On the track being written in the aftermath of the ICE raids in Minneapolis:

"This is not the first time in history we have reckoned with abuses of power. Bearing witness to the fragility of democracy is a scary thing, and it demands a response."

 On the making of “Living Undercover”:

"Sometimes it's because we're building something beautiful behind the curtain, other times we're hiding some kind of darkness,. I like the cloak and dagger feel of the song that ties into its central theme."

On the band recording both songs at The Blasting Room:

"The studio there is a home away from home, and we know those rooms like the back of our hands. It'd been a while since we worked at the studio, and it was good to be under their roof again."

You can check out both tracks below. The band is getting ready to tour with Alkaline Trio this Fall, with a Bay Area date set for San Francisco’s Masonic on October 22nd, 2026.
